Special Events Call Signs

Special Events Call Sign System is Now Operational

WCARS/VEC is now accepting requests for the reservation of Amateur Station Special Event call signs by regular mail, telephone, FAX, or by e-mail. In the case of a telephone request, we require at least a confirming e-mail, FAX or letter.
The request should be for a special event--not, for example, a CQ contest. A special event operation usually commemorates an event which is publicly significant. Ideally, this is a one time, non-recurring celebration, festival, anniversary, holiday, convention, dedication, public demonstration, and the like.
You may request a call up to one year before the effective beginning date, and its operation may cover up to and including 15 days of use. We will not accept multiple bordering 15 day periods since reserving more than one call sign during a calendar year is discouraged.

Here is the information that Win will need to process your request:

One by one call sign requested.

You may list up to ten call signs in order of preference.

Beginning and ending operating dates of the special event.

The period may not exceed 15 days.

Name of the special event for which the call sign will be used.

May not exceed 30 characters.

Name of person applying for the call sign.

Must be same name as on operator license.

Current station call sign.
Mailing address.
Telephone number where can be reached during the day.
E-mail address (if they have one).
