Football Chaperones
Below is a brief job description.
Pre-Game
*Chaperones report to the uniform room at call time for the band. Your name tag will be hanging on the end of bookcase. The first two weeks we will be preparing the uniforms for fitting. Other weeks we will be distributing assigned uniforms to the students.
*Some chaperones will be needed to help load the truck for away games. For home games we will be carrying equipment to the field.
1st Quarter
*During the game we sit in or near the band block and help as needs arise.
2nd Quarter
*Two or three chaperones distribute the plumes and then take them up when the band returns to the stands after performing.
Half-time
*During half time a couple of chaperones need to watch the students’ personal items that are left in the stands and keep other people from moving into the band block. (We do let band parents from the visiting team in to watch their students.
3rd quarter
*Two or three chaperones distribute lemonade to the band and visiting band. The table is set up on the gate side of the concession stand.
4th Quarter
*At the end of the game look for forgotten items as the band exits the stands.
Post-Game
*At the end of the game (H) or when the bus arrives at the band room (A) come directly to the uniform room to help take up uniforms. Exit the bus first so that you can get in before the students. They tend to block the door, then chaperones can’t get in, and the whole process gets stalled if you don’t get in quickly.
*After the uniforms are finished, hang your name tag on the hooks and go home with our Thanks! for all your help.
