 About our Church

West Village is an independent Christian Church nestled in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains in Oak Ridge, Tn.  Oak Ridge is a dynamic city of approximately 27,000 people from all cultures and nationalities throughout the world who primarily gather here to work and/or study at one of the DOE facilities or the University of Tn.   Currently, our active church membership is approximately 100, however we have averaged in the 160 range in recent years.  We have a group of young people at our church, which is somewhat unusual for many churches in this area; therefore, with proper teaching and mentoring, the outlook for the future of our church is positive.  We have a relatively new sanctuary (approximately 12 years old) and have just completed renovation of a large portion of our educational, fellowship hall, and kitchen facilities.  We presently have only three paid part time staff members; namely, a secretary, treasurer, and custodian.  However, our intentions are to hire a full time senior minister, and at least, a part time youth director/minister.
