Policy for Donating Books to the Church Library
All types of books are wanted, instructional, devotionals, commentaries, reference, fiction, youth, children's, etc. provided that the following apply;
All books must be specifically Christian in nature. We recognize that there are wonderful secular books in the world, but simply don't have room in the church library. We would rather that this be a library that specializes in every aspect of ourChristian needs.
We reserve the right to remove, sell, trade, donate, or even destroy any book donated. This helps to remove duplicates,raise money for specific book, trade for a wider selection, donate book(s) to new churches just starting and even destroy some older books if they cannot be repaired.
In additional to the previous guidelines, the following tips will
help us in the library;
Instead of bringing all books no longer needed, used, or wanted in
a large number, handpick a few that have personally been a blessing to you and that you
would be eager for others in the church to read.
Make an attempt to bring in newer selections as opposed to
older. We will not dismiss older books out of hand, but one goal of a library is to
always stay current. We will not make the mistake of replacing old with new for no
other reason, but we would like the library to be a living and changing place that
continues to meet your needs.
Bring in books in good repair. If this is a book that you
feel led to share regardless of its disrepair, either mend it before donating or we can
assist in the mending of the book. If this is the case please deliver the book
directly to one of the library staff with the special instructions.
If you are donating used books with no special instructions, you may leave them in the library.
If you are donating either new books, or used book with some special instructions, then please give the book(s) directly to one of the library staff.
We have been blessed with a good amount of space for our library, but it is a fixed amount of space. By using the previous guidelines and tips you will help us make the very best, most helpful, and God-serving library we can have in our allotted space.
Thank you!
